Motion-sensing gem matching game hits the App Store

Diamond Twister offers up iPhone puzzling

Gameloft has ported its Diamond Twister mobile puzzle game to iPhone, and kitted it out with a nifty motion-sensing feature in the process.

The game itself is a slick match-three puzzler, where you have to swap gems to make rows of three or more of the same type, which then disappear and leave others to fall down.

There are eight separate game modes, including five exclusive to iPhone, and 64 levels of difficulty to work your way through. We're guessing you'll be feeling pretty smug when you reach the 64th.

Naturally, you swap gems by dragging them using the touchscreen – a method that works very well, judging by our quick playtest. Meanwhile, the motion-sensing aspect involves rotating your phone to decide which way the gems fall when you make a match – adding a new strategic element to proceedings.

Diamond Twister is out now, and costs £4.99 from the iPhone App Store. Click here to check out its product page, if you have iTunes.
