Leaves us darkly dreaming

We love everything about Dexter, from the TV adaptation of Jeff Lindsey’s original novel, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, to the two written-for-TV sequel series and the subsequent literary follow ups.

So the news that an iPhone game is in the works based on Miami’s finest blood-spatter analyst is murderously exciting, and IGN has just put out the game’s first teaser trailer.

Unfortunately, other than getting another glimpse of the CGI version of America’s favourite serial killer, it really doesn’t show us anything new. But it does let us know that the marketing build-up is underway, which puts the game within a spit and a throw of an App Store submission.

But could that be the next stumbling block for Dexter? Apple is proving to be notoriously prudish about such content. We had a sneak preview of Bulkypix's fantastic live action horror/survival adventure, Hysteria Project recently, which seems to be having some difficulties with the submissions process, despite it not showing any gore, gratuitous violence or graphic content.

Can it really be a worthy Dexter game without any blood? That’s a rhetorical question, of course. It absolutely can’t. Well, check out the trailer below, then start holding your breath.

We’re already blue in the face.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
