It's the future, Earth is in ruins, and a dimensional rift has allowed hostile creatures to creep between worlds. You're a member of a crew tasked with setting up a mining camp to harvest Delirium, a powerful mineral with paranormal properties.

The problem is - most of your crew is missing, your base isn't built, and you're not alone... So begins Deliria, a short slice of sci-fi for mobile developed by Eldritch Games and released earlier this year.

Gameplay involves wandering alien landscapes, building up the defence of your base camp, and taking on the shadowy monsters that aren't too happy about your arrival on Dimension LG7.

Though you can't wield a plasma rifle yourself, you can hire mercenaries to fight for you. You can also heal those injured in combat, and harness mysterious powers from artefacts.

Upgrading your camp's defences is a matter of resource-management, so there's an element of strategy involved if you want to survive Deliria.

You can piece together the fate of previous miners by picking up logs along the way, and save the lost members of your crew from meeting a similar end.

Visually, the game is a 2D side-scroller, with simple, colourful graphics, and a retro-feel. The controls are easy to pick up and the whole thing can be completed in a single weekend.

If you fancy a short, sweet sci-fi adventure, Deliria is available from Google Play and the App Store and it’s a real bargain.
