Madfinger Games is sending players a festive jolt of Christmas fear with its latest seasonal update to Dead Trigger - along with a ho-ho-horrible zombie Santa.

Not ones to shy away from themed updates - we all remember blowing pumpkin-headed zombies to orange, pulpy bits over Halloween - the Dead Trigger designers have knocked up a North Pole Christmas Arena to get you in the holiday spirit.

And like St Nick's sack, this snowy stage is overflowing with surprises. I mean, if you saw a zombie with the head of a reindeer and glowing green eyes, you'd be pretty surprised, right?

Of course, deer-headed deadites are the least of your worries, particularly when the reanimated corpse of Chris Cringle is on the prowl.

You're going to need some heavy artillery to take out Zanta (we see what you did there, Madfinger). Luckily, the update includes a shiny new grenade launcher. Amazing.

The dev is also offering deals on in-game weaponry, meaning it's never been cheaper to arm yourself against the zombie apocalypse.

You can download Dead Trigger for free on iOS and Android right now.
