Adult Swim's new game is ostensibly a tower defence game. But instead of setting up automated turrets and then wandering off to have a cup of tea, you actually have to get involved yourself.

So as your castle is besieged by angry Nords, you'll have to tap to fire arrows, pull back on a catapult to fling rocks, and use power-ups to unleash special defences.

It's got 80 levels, some bonus challenge stages, a bunch of achievements to unlock, and an Endless Assault mode with leaderboards. But watch out for IAPs: you can buy projectiles, boosters, and upgrades with coins or meat space cash.

Day of the Viking

Day of the Viking is a manic game with tactile controls, slick art, and a sharp sense of humour. Not the deepest game on the store, but fun enough. It will be available on the App Store worldwide at midnight in your area, and will cost you £1.99 / $2.99.
