Taito's latest scrolling shooter Dariusburst: Second Prologue blasting onto iOS soon

Much like the onrushing enemies that fill a shmup screen quicker than you can say 'help!', Japanese scrolling shooters are coming thick and fast on touchscreen devices.

Joining Cave's catalogue of chaos and Taito's ludicrously price RayForce on iPhone and iPad comes bullet dodger Dariusburst: Second Prologue.

To try and differentiate itself from the plethora of high-quality shoot-'em-ups on the App Store, Dariusburst: Second Prologue will include music composed by Taito's house band - the oddly named Zuntata - as well as a collection of epic boss fights.

If Taito's Dariusburst: Second Prologue makes its way over to Europe and North America - and Taito's previous form regarding App Store releases suggests so - it will mark the first time Dariusburst has flown beyond Japanese shores.

The release date has yet to be announced, but we'd expect to find it on the App Store sometime soon.
