Earlier this year, Zeptolab sent Om Nom back in time with the Silver Award-winning Cut the Rope: Time Travel - but that's not the end of his adventures.

We recently learned about a full sequel due out toward the end of 2013 - Cut the Rope 2 - which we guessed would have a plot somewhere between Taken and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

As it turns out, we weren't far off the mark.

New details from a talk at GDC Next reveal that Om Nom will go rogue in Cut the Rope 2 and venture outside the confines the box which he's called home since 2010.

Unfortunately, Zeptolab didn't say anything about Liam Neeson factoring into the sequel - but hey, you can't have everything.

Time for walkies

Outside of a brief teaser trailer that showed the plucky green Om Nom getting dragged through the air by a rope, we still don't know much more about the game past what we were told: "Om Nom is missing".

In the course of his incredible journey*, he'll encounter new characters, progress through levels full of new graphics, and rock out to all new audio as well.

We'll keep you updated with more details and the teaser trailer for Cut the Rope 2 as soon as we have them.

* He's a green candy-eating monster that's dragged through the air by his foot. That counts as incredible in our book.
