Something for Zidane's weekend

French footballer Zinedine Zidane retired last weekend in spectacular fashion butt what's he going to do now?

N-Gage + DS + Game Boy ...

He was arguably the greatest player of his generation, the possessor of numerous clever tricks, the crafter of wonderful passes, and the scorer of spectacular goals. But now he's bidden farewell to the football pitch – and with a FIFA suspension looming – Zizou could find himself twiddling his thumbs.

How can the midfield maestro keep occupied? First up, we reasoned that some sort of gentle pursuit might be in order, like Pub Fight and The Incredible Hulk: Rampage on mobile, or maybe Grand Theft Auto: Liberty Cities on PSP.

We ruled out mobile titles Penalty Challenge and Knockout Soccer for obvious reasons, and somehow Beach Head Assualt seemed a little tasteless.

However, seeing as the great man was renowned for being good with his head, we thought that Platinum Sudoku on mobile or Brain Academy on DS could be worth a try.

Then we concluded a spot of soccer trivia might be best, enabling Zidane to reflect on his achievements. Sadly, neither Trivial Pursuit Football Edition nor Soccer Quiz could answer the question, "What did Marco Materazzi really say in the World Cup Final?"

Ultimately, we decided that the most fitting challenge had to be a spot of mobile Zi-Zuma.

Au revoir, Zidane!
