Immersive mafia-based Facebook game Crime City heading to iPhone later this month
Mind your back
Crime City, a game that strikes this writer as a cross between Grand Theft Auto and Habbo Hotel (there's a sentence I never thought I'd say), is expanding its horizons, moving into an iPhone neighbourhood near you later in August.
This popular Facebook game takes place in New York, and follows your (hopefully) meteoric ascent to mob boss to end all mob bosses.
Not only does Funzio's mafia-based sim provide you with the typical sandbox environment – allowing you to steal cars, rob civilians, or just perform menial tasks - it also encourages you to expand your empire by building and improving various structures around the city.
The story mode contains over 200 separate missions and objectives to complete, for those that prefer a more linear structure.
The strongest pull of Crime City, however, is liable to be found in the multiplayer. With the ability to both team up with, and steal everything from, friends in the game, there is a possibility for huge guilds, syndicates, and groups to form.
Crime City will launch on the App Store later this month. In the meantime, watch the trailer below.
