It's time to make some crazy money: Dreamcast / arcade classic Crazy Taxi will be available on iOS later this month.

On its official blog, Sega revealed that it will be launching an iOS version of the game, with a short trailer (see below) that features a song from punk rock band The Offspring embedded in the article.

That's very important. Why? Well, because a recent Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network version of the arcade racer did not feature The Offspring or Bad Religion on its soundtrack, much to the chagrin of the Crazy Taxi faithful.

It looks like Sega is resurrecting the soundtrack - well, one song from The Offspring, at least - for this iOS version.

All I want

If you've never played Crazy Taxi before, let me fill you in. You play as a reckless cabbie in a California-styled city, and it's your job to pick up customers, take them to their chosen destination, and try to rack up as much cash in fares as possible.

It's all about skilful driving, finding shortcuts, and racking up extra cash through big jumps and reckless driving. If that's not enough, there's a Crazy Box mode included, with ridiculous mini-games like using the taxi as a bowling ball.

Crazy Taxi will race onto the App Store in October. We'll let you exactly know when you can pick it up (before driving it halfway across the city, doing massive jumps along the way).
