You’ve got to love the App Store. A few weeks ago, there were two schools of thought concerning its viability as a gaming platform: the pessimists and the optimists. Now, with the release of Rolando and a few other high profile titles, the pessimist school is looking increasingly mistaken.

For which reason we’re more excited than we might once have been about the imminent arrival of Crayon Physics Deluxe, winner of the Grand Prize in the 2008 Independent Games Festival. Of course, it wasn't technically the Deluxe (retail) version that won the prize, but we won't split hairs.

In a nutshell, the game involves drawing lines and shapes to create mechanisms that enable a ball to get from one place to another. It’s like a more involved Line Rider – a cross between that and LittleBigPlanet.
