Coma Ward drops Theme Hospital's humour for a more true-to-life take on being a doctor

Coma Ward isn't a pleasant game but it certainly is interesting.

It will have you playing as a doctor on the titular ward as you move between multiple patients ensuring they're kept alive. You do this by monitoring and assessing their needs.

Obviously, as they're in a coma, their bodies completely rely on outside help to keep clean, be fed, and have other basic needs met.

You embody the entirety of that outside help. So if you miss a beat then so will your patients. You'll need to be meticulous and quick.

It's a highly-strung and stressful job. Coma Ward will reflect this as you need to ensure your doctor doesn't get burned out.

Making this task more challenging, yet perhaps more true to the actual doctoring job it simulates, is how busy the hospital is.

There will be nurses checking on patients, janitors cleaning up mess, families visiting relatives, and you'll have to move between them all.

While Coma Ward is still in its early stages the concept seems solid. It doesn't look all that inviting at the moment but, then again, its drabness seems somewhat appropriate.

Coma Ward will be coming to iOS and Android once finished. The creators are looking for real-life doctors to playtest it so, if you are one, track the game on Facebook.
