Chesster is a new Match-3 puzzler that combines the careful tile swapping of that genre with the rules of Chess, out now on iOS.

Chesster takes the familiar formula of matching similar figures to score points, and adds new wrinkles by introducing Chess pieces. This means each tiles moves in the signature style of its piece, so Knights are restricted to L-shaped movements while Bishops can be moved diagonally, and so on.

Besides that interesting twist, you also can move three pieces in a single turn, allowing you to strategically manipulate the board to make high-scoring matches.

Chesster is divided between three modes. The Story mode features matching puzzles in different rooms of a castle. Puzzle mode features tricky arrangements of pieces to be cleared in a certain number of turns, while Challenge mode present specific goals that must be accomplished in limited turns.

Chesster is available for £2.29 / $2.99 on iPad and iPhone. You can also find the game on Steam.
