Caroline's Working is a match-three puzzler - except it's not.
In your timed quest for a high score, you actually only have to match two pieces of food to pop them out of existence, with five punctured pieces resulting in a bomb.
Nice art and catchy music draw you in - and tapping to burst the groceries is satisfying enough - but the lack of an endgame or any sense of progression made my time feel wasted, especially when the gameplay wasn't enough in itself to keep my attention for long.
There are no levels and no new mechanics, and upgrades are both minute and extortionately priced.
And this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, especially since the game initially looked so delicious.
