The Call of Cthulhu: The Darkness Within coming to the iPhone

And why not? The iPhone needs some good adventuring, in our humble (yet highly accurate) opinion.

We reported on Spanish developer Mayhem Studio's intention to adapt its mobile version of H P Lovecraft's original story to the Apple handset a month or two back, and the game's publisher, Digital Joker, has just sent over a few more details.

Since the documentary-style narrative of the 1926 story doesn't easily lend itself to a gaming adaptation, The Call of Cthulhu: The Darkness Within follows the story of Professor Cornelius Osgood as he enlists you to help him investigate a strange earthquake in Egypt.

The game then begins dipping into elements of Lovecraft's tale, with characters beginning to inexplicably lose their minds, and seemingly unconnected murder mysteries surfacing as your exploration of the upturned desert becomes more involved.
