Coming to iPhone too

Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior HD enters the iPad

Here's first. The release of Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior HD for iPad is the first time an officially licensed game based on the martial arts' star has been available for an iDevice.

Developed by Spanish studio Digital Legends (of Nokia beat-'em up ONE fame), the game is also coming to iPhone, iPod touch and other mobile devices, but it's got its first release with iPad.

As you'd probably guessed, it's a 3D martial art game that has you fighting in five locations, such as a Hong Kong market, the docks, the roof tops and temple yard - as you attempt to beat over your rivals.

Swing low, sweet fist

Of course, what will be crucial for the game's success will be the quality of its control system, which has customisable styles so you can create your own method of combat. This also links into the iPad's accelerometer in terms of pulling off special hooks and, strangely, the ability to fight around corners.

To further reinforce the game's realism, all the moves have been motion captured from martial artists, while detailed facial animations - we're assuming lots of pained looks - also feature.

There are 10 characters to choose from, including Bruce Lee - but of course - and five play modes; Story, Arcade, Time Attack, Versus and Survival.

Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior HD is out now for iPad, priced $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99.
