Charles Cecil turns to Kickstarter to fund new Broken Sword adventure

Revolution Software's Charles Cecil has just launched a Kickstarter page to help fund an all-new Broken Sword adventure for iOS and Android.

The new game, entitled Broken Sword - the Serpent's Curse, will not only reunite lawyer George Stobbart with French journalist Nico Collard, but will also see many of the original Revolution dev team return to the series.

This effort to recapture the spirit of the original classic extends to the game's visual style, which will remain 2D to maintain that authentic Broken Sword aesthetic.

Another swipe

Despite the previous games acquiring legendary status among point-and-click fans, the royalties required to fund a new game have not been forthcoming.

To remedy this, Cecil has taken to Kickstarter in the hope of raising $400,000, which will allow him to bring fans what he believes will be "the best Broken Sword game ever".

If you would like to see what Paris looks like in the spring rather than fall - and make yourself eligible for some special goodies - head over to the Broken Sword - the Serpent's Curse Kickstarter page now and make a donation.
