Clash Royale and Pokemon GO win big at last week's BAFTA Games Award

As a follow up to my previous post, last week's BAFTAs saw some great games taking home well-deserved wins.

Uncharted 4 may have won the Best Game, but the dark puzzler Inside blew everything else out of the water with four wins overall, and yes that was certainly well deserved.

On the mobile front, however, we're lucky to see two winners rise into the ranks.

The popular augmented reality game, Pokemon GO, took the win in the Mobile category - you'd be mad not to see that coming from a mile away after it dominated millions of players last summer. Even now, recent statistics show that there are more than 65 million monthly active users.

In terms of the ESports Audience Award, the second mobile title to win a BAFTA was, of course, Clash Royale. Having beaten hugely popular games like Overwatch, Dota 2, and League of Legends to the podium, that's an incredibly valiant effort and epic win for the mobile world.

A huge congratulations again to all of the nominees and winners of the BAFTA Games Awards 2017. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the next year brings.
