Borderlands Online is bringing the shooter-RPG to mobile in China

Chinese game publisher Shanda Games has announced Borderlands Online for mobile and PC in China.

It's to be a shooter-RPG that plays just like regular Borderlands titles, except with a focus on the online experience, plus it will be free-to-play.

As expected, Shanda Games is working with 2K and Gearbox on Borderlands Online. In fact, Gearbox has even set-up a new team in Shanghai to support it.

The game has four distinct playable classes, which don't deviate much from the usual Borderlands line-up. Yep, there's a soldier, hunter, siren, and a berserker.

Borderlands Online will be released in China in 2015.

Whether we'll see it come westwards isn't known and, perhaps, isn't very likely either. But you never know.
