Bomberman Touch explodes onto iPhone

You can't beat a bit of Bomberman, but how will he adapt to the touchscreen mobile age? We'll be able to find out today, courtesy of Bomberman Touch: The Legend of Mystic Bomb.

Okay, that's a bit of a rubbish subtitle, but the game itself looks great. The plot involves searching a jungle for "a heretical ruins called KA-BOOM TEMPLE" to find a legendary treasure.

No, the plot doesn't matter. It's all about the bombing action for those of us who, ahem, love big bombs and cannot lie. Some of the game is controlled via touchscreen, including power-ups and bomb-triggering.

It's unclear how you move - I'm hoping this is motion-sensing, so you just tilt the iPhone back and forth. The game costs £4.99, and rest assured, we'll be taking a look at it as soon as Apple releases the iPhone 2.0 firmware this evening.

In the meantime, click here to visit Bomberman Touch's product page on the App Store.
