Blackout is bringing Lovecraftian interactive fiction to iOS and Android

The gamebook/interactive fiction subgenre will be getting a tad creepy with Blackout, an in-development text adventure that eschews science fiction or fantasy for cosmic horrors and urban exploration.

Severely traumatized by some mysterious events, you must decide to move on and try to forget, or investigate and discover the horrifying truth. In the expected style, you choose various choices to progress the ten-chapter story and manipulate the narrative

You'll need to manage your stats - divided between Courage, Sanity, and Fitness, inventory and mental condition, while reacting to events and even engaging in mini-games that represent combat and other scenarios.

Blackout is expected to release first on PC before coming to iOS and Android; you can download and try a PC demo of the first chapter through the game's itch.io page.
