New iOS and Android games out this week - April 21

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Crash Arena Turbo Stars, Real Boxing Manny Pacquiao and more
Product: Best new iOS games | Publisher: Steel Media Ltd | Format: Android, iPhone, iPad

Every week we round up the best iOS and Android games from the previous week. But this misses out on the launch day hype, which is typically on a Thursday for iOS games.

We also rarely get to cover all of the week's most interesting releases in any detail. There are just too many of them.

That's why on a Thursday or Friday we now pick out some of the most interesting games of the week for your consideration.

Of course, not all of these games will turn out to be any good, but hopefully you'll have a better idea of what's fresh on the sprawling App Store and Google Play Store.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
By Telltale - buy on iOS / buy on Android

It's a Telltale adventure starring the characters from a massive and highly entertaining Marvel movie franchise. Of course this one's of interest.

CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars
By ZeptoLab - download on iOS / download on Android

ZeptoLab made Cut The Rope, so it's pretty much mobile physics puzzler royalty. CATS is a bit of a departure though - a multiplayer head-to-head car battling game where you must build your own vehicles.

Get Me Outta Here
By Crescent Moon Games - download on iOS

This frenetic shooter has you blasting through a bunch of comic book aliens using a novel control system.

Invert
By Noodlecake Studios - buy on iOS

Invert is the kind of prettily minimalist puzzler that works so well on mobile. There are shades of Othello or Reversi to its tile-flipping mechanics.

Alone Planet
By Immersion - buy on iOS

This monochrome top-down adventure-puzzler has you manipulating environmental elements and negotiating large bosses to escape its levels.

Falling Plank
By Anson Brown - download on iOS / download on Android

A punishing endless falling arcade game with the kind of extreme retro graphics that will always win brownie points with us.

Evergrow: Paper Forest
By FredBear Games - buy on iOS

Evergrow: Paper Forest looks as charming as its title suggests, as you play out an isometric puzzler on a child's desk.

Father and Son
By TuoMuseo - download on iOS

Father and Son is a striking side-scrolling adventure game with a firm focus on narrative. Warning: this game may contain emotions.

Real Boxing Manny Pacquiao
By Vivid Games - download on iOS / download on Android

This is basically Real Boxing 3, which should be enough to excite fans of mobile pugilism. We really liked the last one.

Fight Team Rivals
By Three Towers Games - download on iOS

Ever wanted to train up and manage your own MMA fighter? Punch Club not fighty enough for you? Fight Team Rivals could be the one for you.

Happy Racing
By Chill Fleet - download on iOS

Happy Racing is another of those tilty ragdoll physics racing games, but we're particularly digging its art-style.
