If you're the sort of person who likes playing jewel-based match-three puzzlers on Facebook then you're no doubt already acquainted with
Bejeweled Blitz.
PopCap released the game this year, and by the time it came out of beta in June it had served
more than a billion games, with five million registered players on Facebook.
Now, inevitably, it's coming to iPhone. A
blog called Games.com has got hold of a preview build, and apparently it's looking good.
Bejeweled Blitz is a riff on the
Bejeweled formula in which you have a minute to rack up as many points as you possibly can. This iPhone version is equipped with Facebook Connect, so you'll be able to participate in the great social scrimmage for superiority away from home.
Aside from that, it's looking pretty much the same as the Facebook version. And what more could anybody ask of it?
Bejeweled Blitz isn't a standalone game, in case you go searching for it by name when it hits the App Store. It's an add-on pack that you'll be able to get for free if you own
Bejeweled 2. If you don't, it's $2.99/£1.79.

Did you honestly say "And what more could anybody ask of it?" Really?
Well, I'll tell you. MULTIPLIERS WHICH ARE ACTUALLY THE SAME SHAME AS THE GEMS THEY MATCH WITH!
Yes, I'm one of the ten percent or so of male BB players who have to guess when it comes to claiming their multipliers due to colour-blindness. It wouldn't take much to fix it, but Popcap don't seem to care (they certainly don't respond to my emails).
