iPhone platformer Babylonian Twins 59p to mark Amiga's 25th anniversary

Whether or not you’re old enough to remember the release of the Amiga home computer, there’s still a reason to be cheerful as Babylonian Twins has been reduced to 59p - 75 per cent off - on the App Store to celebrate the computer system's 25th birthday.

In 1985, Commodore released the Amiga, a personal computer which provided a significant performance boost over the 8-bit computers around at the time (such as the Commodore 64).

Originally marketed as an all-purpose home computer, it became extremely popular thanks to its advanced graphics and audio, which made it perfect for home gaming.

Although Babylonian Twins is 17 years old, it's been reworked for iPhone and is also available for iPad (but not on offer, unfortunately). You play as twins Nasir and Blasir as you use each their respective abilities to solve puzzles, earning treasures and OpenFeint achievements along the way.

Tag-team gameplay means that you can only play as one twin at a time, and you have to use each twin's ability for different types of obstacles (for example, Nasir can spin to break through floors, whereas Blasir can run into walls and jump higher).

There are five worlds to explore, from the Hanging Gardens to the Tower of Babylon, and over a dozen levels to complete.

Babylonian Twins is available for the iPhone at 99c / 59p for this week.
