Squelch, moan, shoot

Audio Defence: Zombie Arena is a blood splattered sound-based shooter that's out now for iPad and iPhone

Audio Defence: Zombie Arena is the latest game from the devs behind Papa Sangre II, and it's available to download from the App Store right this second.

Where the Papa Sangre series focused on creepy sneaking and avoiding awful creatures, Audio Defence: Zombie Arena is all about shooting the undead things stumbling and groaning all around you.

It uses the same binaural sound technology to immerse you in a world full of shambling brain munchers.

This time you're spinning around and tapping on your device's screen to shoot the zombies in the face, which sounds pretty good to us.

The game looks to have a pretty humorous take on the whole being trapped with a bunch of slavering monsters thing.

You'll get to whomp them with a wok or a banjo, mangle them with a chainsaw, or just shoot them with a wide array of firearms.

Audio Defence: Zombie Arena is out on the App Store right now. It'll set you back £2.99/ $4.99, and we should have a review up on the site in the next few days.

In the meantime why not check out the trailer above. You'll need to turn your speakers on, or it won't make any sense.
