Touch to kill

Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles iPhone goes on sale, 59p/99c

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood – the latest chapter in the time-vaulting saga – is coming to home console this week. It's not coming to any handheld platforms in the immediate future, but that doesn't mean iPhone owners need to go without a fix of stylish Italian slaughter.

Gameloft's Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles – to which Pocket Gamer gave an impressive Silver Award last year – is 59p / 99c 'for a limited time', down from £2.99 / $4.99.

Altair's Chronicles puts you in the shoes of Brotherhood star Ezio's ancestor Altair as you attempt to track down an artefact called the Chalice. Along the way you kill a lot of people and clamber over a lot of rooftops. Despite the occasionally frustrating controls, it's a killer romp.
