The Bronze Award-winning Assassin's Creed Pirates got its first update today. It adds a new map, a new playground, ten secondary missions, 12 new treasures, and increases the difficulty.

The new map is called Nassau, and is said to be the most challenging area in the game. But even if you don't travel there, you'll need to up your game as the difficulty across all other missions has been increased, too.

To better arm you for this increased challenge, you're now able to destroy cannonballs in mid-air. There are more counter-attack options available, too, if you have the skill to perform them.

In our review, we said: "A big silly game full of repetitive combat and simple missions, Assassin's Creed Pirates somehow still manages to be fun".

You can purchase Assassin's Creed Pirates on the App Store [buy] and Google Play [buy] for £2.99 / $4.99.
