Assassin's Creed II coming to iPhone

Discover this spin-off of the console game

Assassin's Creed II coming to iPhone

Assassin's Creed II: Discovery will be arriving on the App Store later this year, Ubisoft have announced today during Apple's It's Only Rock and Roll press conference in San Francisco.

Based on the console version, the game has you playing as the Renaissance-era assassin Enzo.

Unlike the console versions however, this iPhone and iPod Touch iteration focuses on side-scrolling action and platforming instead of immersive open-world play.

One interesting feature highlighted by producer Ben Mattes is the ability to use snapshots taken with your device's camera for the creation of wanted posters. These are then plastered around Florence for you to gawk at as you jump from rooftop to rooftop.

It's worth noting that Assassin's Creed II Discovery ties into the science fiction underpinnings of the series with allusions to modern technology in the heads-up display.

With Ubisoft pegging Assassin's Creed II Discovery for the same release date as the console versions, you can expect to hear much more about the game leading up to its November 17 release.
