Asphalt series celebrates its 15th anniversary with special events and the return of Asphalt Urban GT

The Asphalt series has been one of the biggest names in mobile gaming for, oh, 15 years now. To celebrate the anniversary, Gameloft is set to introduce exclusive content, in-game gifts, and stunning cars for Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt 9: Legends.

As a nice touch, Gameloft has also released a playable version of the game that started it all, Asphalt Urban GT, over on its official site. That one first launched for Java-based phones, the N-Gage, and the Nintendo 3DS all the way back in 2004.

From today until May 25th, Asphalt 9: Legends players will be able to claim a limited-edition Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack fit with a 15th anniversary decal. This Friday, May 8th, a special anniversary event will begin where players will compete to earn a 15th anniversary-themed Lamborghini Veneno. Not bad at all.

Switch-based Legends fans will net themselves the Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack with 15th anniversary decal by simply logging in on any day from May 11th to the 31st. The Switch version's anniversary event kicks off on May 14th and ends on the 20th, giving players the chance to earn the Nissan GTR Nismo.

From May 13th to the 27th, Asphalt 8: Airborne is giving away a free KTM X-Bow GT4 Car, while on May 22nd, you're going to be able to take part in the special anniversary carnival event to win the Lamborghini SIAN with a limited-edition 15th anniversary decal.

Phew, that was a lot to get through. If you're yet to give either game a go, both are available right now over on the App Store and Google Play as free-to-play titles. I'd also recommend that you check out the rereleased version of Asphalt Urban GT before it disappears on June 5th.
