High octane Asphalt 5 trailer revealed for iPhone

Firemint's Real Racing has enjoyed a long stint on the iPhone racing game throne, but it looks as though it's crown is about to be challenged not only by EA Mobile's Need for Speed: Shift, but also by Gameloft's latest addition to its ultra-hot racing franchise, Asphalt 5.
We've already seen the CG Asphalt 5 trailer ripping up the virtual tarmac, and heard all the gossip about in-app purchases, but Gameloft just dropped us a line to show off the brand new gameplay footage of its four-wheeled rubber-burning beauty.
Perhaps what's most impressive about Asphalt 5 is the apparent interaction with the environment and background traffic, as well as the very customisable motors. Coupled with the awesome city tracks, weather conditions and vehicular combat, Asphalt 5 is revving its way closer and closer to the top of our most highly anticipated iPhone games of 2009.
