We've come a long way

Ten years ago today Steve Jobs presented Apple's very first iPhone

This is a wild one, but in case you weren't aware it's exactly ten years to the day since Apple gave birth to the very first iPhone.

To me, it feels like it's been so much longer but this previous decade has been a huge step forward and surge in popularity for the latest tech. Rather than selling it as the iPhone of today's standard, Steve Jobs initially pushed it as the ultimate three-in-one product: a wide-screen iPod with touch control, a revolutionary mobile phone, and a breakthrough internet communications device.

Apple still aims to achieve Jobs' vision in creating the ultimate device. Below, we've included the original keynote and it's actually amazing to watch how far the iPhone has come in ten years. At 11.6 mm, the original iPhone is almost 4 mm thicker than the most current iPhone 7, which sits in at 7.1 mm. Then Jobs' offering of a 2 megapixel camera to today's standards would be laughable compared to the iPhone 7's hefty 12 megapixel camera.

In another ten year will we be laughing at the quality of the iPhone 7 in comparison to the iPhone 14? We probably will be.
