App Army Assemble: Save the Planet

The most apt title ever

Save the Planet has the most apt title ever. You pilot a spaceship and must circle a planet that's being bombarded by asteroids, generating shields to protect it.

That might sound simple, but you're probably not getting just how thick and fast these asteroids are coming. It'll take quick reflexes, concentration, and patience to succeed.

I'm not quite sure I understand Save the Planet, as the tutorial isn't very clear. I know you have to hold to create barrier, but it doesn't always work. I'm also not sure what the countdown timer is for.

Save the Planet has promise but it needs more clarity to properly engage.

Save the Planet is a high score chaser with a simple concept: protect planet Earth from asteroids. You do this by orbiting Earth in a spaceship and creating barriers to block the nasty space boulders. Timing when to start and end a barrier is key.

It can get a little frustrating since it takes a while before a barrier is long enough to actually deflect an asteroid.

You can unlock ships with perks like increased speed or an enhanced barrier using points earned when you finish a game. I really wish there was more to this game, but I think I'll lose interest quickly.

It's pretty easy to pick up and play though the challenge ramps up as more and more asteroids appear. I found it got a bit repetitive over time.

A simple idea that I feel has been executed well. It's nothing to rave about, but it's good enough for a quick play each day.

I quite like the music as it adds a certain atmosphere to the game.

This is a tough game! I'm all for a challenge but I can't seem to get a score in double figures. I love the design though. It looks good and it's a great idea. I just need to try and figure out why I'm so bad at it.

This game is wonderfully presented and has a great concept, but it lets itself down in terms of balance. It's super slow to begin with and could do with speeding up.

I've played long enough to earn stars and unlock the next ship, but the second was worse than the first. That put me off spending any money on more ships.

For me it's on the verge of greatness but just doesn't hold my attention enough to make me return to it.
