Will Dunkers win this game? The App Army decides

Each week, we get early access to an exciting upcoming mobile game and give it to a select few hardened mobile gaming experts that make up the App Army. We then feed their thoughts back to you, our audience, so you know whether it's worth your time or not. Gamer to gamer.

This week we're looking at Dunkers, a simplistic sports game in which you have to snatch the ball from your opponent and dunk it in their hoop. Sounds simple; looks fun, but is it all a bit too easy for the Army?

Sorry it's not for me. It's kinda fun for a bit, but gets a bit infuriating and there wasn't anything that made me want to play on. I can see why people might like this, but I was having to force myself to play it rather than actually enjoying it.

This is a boring game. Not clever in the least bit. By the time I got half way through the career mode I was going to turn it off but I carried on. By the time I got third I did turn it off.

There's no challenge here. I'm not even sure why it's a game at all. I'm not sure how to be honest here without being insulting as I can't even add anything to improve the game unless I redesign it all together. The game has nothing to it. It's the same thing for each level. The same tactics I used for each level until I got bored when I got third.

Dunkers is mindless fun. It reminds me of Drive Ahead, but it gets repetitive really fast. No Game Center achievements which is kind of disappointing since you have to keep replaying it to unlock all the characters. Unlocking characters does nothing except for cosmetic changes.

The Career mode feels unfair in the sense that you must win the 10th and final match to consider winning the championship even after you've been beaten the second place character (which is the Monkey) at least two times. It would've been better if the player is awarded the champion the moment you reached first place instead of forcing us to fight the same opponent three times to claim the title.

I enjoy Drive Ahead way more than this. Unless Dunkers comes with new content like Drive Ahead, it will get boring really fast after a few plays.

It's one of those comedy, hard to control twitch games that you'll play for a few minutes occasionally. The features are too slight and it's too easy to have to start again to play for long periods of time.

I can't see myself unlocking too many characters as one loss sees you having to start again. The IAPs aren't too in your face and I liked the ability to record videos of your matches.

One for a few idle minutes but nothing more.

The game is super fun. Lots of characters and faces. It is a quick game you can pick up for a few minutes here and there. I'm not great at it, but I love difficult to control, two button games. Definitely worth the time.

It reminds me of something like Soccer Physics or Tug the Table. Just a good time.
