Is this our first glimpse of Angry Birds Star Wars?

It looks like the Angry Birds have got lost in space, and wound up in a galaxy far, far away...

Yup, you guessed it. In a franchise pairing that can best be described as a marketer's wet dream, the feathered stars of Rovio's Angry Birds appear to have entered the Star Wars universe.

I know what you're thinking: 'That's not true... That's impossible!'

Search your feelings. Also, search Rovio's Twitter account. You know it to be true.

Judging by the first post on the newly created Angry Birds Tumblr account, there's going to be a Star Wars / Angry Birds event in Times Square, New York, at 10am EST on October 8th.

What could we expect from an Angry Birds Star Wars game? A chance to bullseye womp rats with a midi-chlorian-enriched Red Bird?

Personally, I'd settle for the opportunity to launch volley after volley of furious fowl at Hayden Christensen's wooden head. Do, or do not - that's what I always say.

Whatever. We'll know more on Monday.
