Winning Blimp's Ambi-ON set to Breakout on the App Store this September
On the rebound
Newly established studio Winning Blimp is getting ready to release its debut iOS title Ambi-ON, which draws inspiration from arcade classics such as Pong and Breakout.
The game puts you in control of a number of movable panels (the Ambi-ON eradication unit) which you must slide along the edge of a vertically scrolling mineshaft to intercept a glowing blue ball.
The aim is to redirect the path of the bouncing ball and use it to destroy parasitic blocks and collect power-ups, thus clearing the mineshaft and restoring order to the Stratopeian transport infrastructure (don't ask).
Winning Blimp was co-founded by Bear Trickey, a former employee of Q-Games, who has worked on highly rated titles such as StarFox 64 3D, Starship Defense, and PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.
Together with musician and artist Alex May, Trickey intends to bring Ambi-ON to iOS devices sometime this September.
