Tag Games brings All Star casual sports brand to iPhone

Have you been to the All Stars Sports Bar and Grill - located just north of Dayton, Ohio on Highway 72? Well, if not, apparently you're no all-American sports fan, because when it comes to touchscreen sports, that's where the action goes down.

At least that's the conceit of Tag Games' new iPhone/iPod Touch series. Labelled a casual sports brand - with plenty of different US athletic disciplines planned - the idea is to create an over-arching bar-room environment which tones down the ultra realism that seems to dominate when it comes to computer game sports these days.

The first game to be announced is the very European-sounding All Star Sports Darts. Interestingly, it's a niche that's already represented thanks to Brian Hammond's iPhone game Darts. Still, nothing like competition eh?

But having played our fair share of real and computer game darts - DS' Touch Darts also springs to mind - it's not a bad choice of activity for a touchscreen game. We're promised modes such as 701, 501, 301, Round-The-Clock, and cricket (!), while there will also be four 'colourful' avatar characters to choose from. The all-important finger flick mechanic better work seamlessly though.

All Star Sports Darts should be available on the App Store by the end of November.
