The old proverb teaches us that we should keep our friends close, and our enemies closer.

Absorption is a game that agrees with that notion, providing you don't let your enemies get too close.

It's an arcade survival game played with just one finger. Your survive and amount points by absorbing life from your enemies.

To do this, you need to get close enough to the hostile shapes that your light rays are able to latch on and start leaching. However, the enemies bounce around the screen, and if they touch you, it's Game Over for you.

Luckily, if you stay close to them, you'll pop them in a few seconds. Then the walls of the arena (which will insta-kill you if touched) shift and the next wave of enemies are brought in.

They come with unique properties, too - just to keep you on your toes. Some of them will explode other shapes around them, others will be invisible until you latch on, while another type shoots a hazardous laser around the arena.

Absorption is something a little different, then. An arcade survival game with a good idea, and one that will certainly test your reactions and perception.

You'll be able to download Absorption for free when it arrives on the UK and US App Stores at midnight. It offers a single IAP to remove ads.
