Inkle's impressive and ambitious gamebook 80 Days has just sailed onto the New Zealand App Store. If the winds are fair, and nobody mutinies, that means it should be hitting the UK at midnight tonight.

The game is a retelling of Phileas Fogg's epic journey around the world. But this time it's set in a wondrous steampunk universe full of trains that turn into submarines, giant ornate airships, and steam-powered walkers.

You play Fogg's manservant Passepartout, and the choices you make and conversations you have can dramatically change the outcome of the game.

Do you hang around in Paris for a couple of days to get some money out of the bank, or push on through some of the trade routes you discovered talking to that Artificer?

You can see how the game plays in the video up at the top of the post. Keep your eyes on the App Store later tonight, when 80 Days will be available for £2.99 / $4.99.
