Not exactly a game, 4D Toys is what its name implies: a toy box filled with simulations and objects from another spatial dimension, available on iOS and Steam.

Developer Marc ten Bosch has been working on puzzler Miegakure since 2009, and from the efforts to explore and experiment with that game's core mechanic comes 4D Toys, a sandbox that lets you interact with things that exist in the fourth dimension.

Much like how a 2D square becomes a 3D cube with an added dimension, 4D Toys presents you with a hundred items that couldn't physically exist in reality, such as a 600 sided dice. Manipulating and experimenting with these objects helps you teach the logic behind fourth-dimensional physics.

Besides the dozens of tests and simulations, 4D Toys also includes a simple tutorial that explains how to interact with these objects, inspired by the 19th century satirical text Flatlands.

4D Toys costs £5.99 / $5.99 on iPad and iPhone, and is also available on Steam.
