Apple has announced that it sold its millionth iPhone 3G yesterday, just two days after the handset went on sale in 21 countries.

It took the company 74 days to sell a million of the original iPhones, so that's not bad going.

Of course, it'd be interesting to get a stat on how many of the million people who bought the 3G model this weekend had problems activating it due to Apple's server problems.

Meanwhile, Apple has also revealed that it's sold more than ten million applications through its App Store since it launched last Thursday.

More stats: there are now more than 800 apps available on the store, with more than 200 of those being free. Apple hasn't given any more figures out on which apps are selling best.

However, 13 out of the Top 20 paid apps chart on iTunes are games, with Super Monkey Ball and Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D taking the top two spots, while Texas Hold'em and Enigmo are sitting pretty in fourth and fifth position.

Cro-Mag Rally is the seventh most popular paid app, while virtual pet game iGotchi is the dark horse of the games line-up, nestling in at number eight.
