The best iPhone games of 2009 and Top Sellers according to Apple

EA Mobile looks like it made a fortune

Presumably, the accounting period for 2009 is over, as Apple has just put out its Rewind 2009 Best of 2009 and Top Sellers lists, the latter of which is dominated by EA Mobile.

The Best of 2009 list doesn't hold any huge surprises, with games like Real Racing, Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor, Monopoly, Worms, Flight Control and Canabalt on there, though a couple of hot newcomers like Jet Car Stunts and Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies have also made the cut.

A couple of old (well, nothing's particularly old on iPhone, but you know what we mean) are also present and correct, like Platinum Award-winning Zen Bound and Doodle Jump.

The Best Sellers list is a tad more revealing, however. EA Mobile has no less than seven of the top 30 best selling titles of 2009, and considering the gaming giant hasn't participated in the race to the bottom, that's got to add up to a hell of a lot of cash.

And there's a fair bit of crossover between the two lists, with Firemint's games performing well, alongside hits such as Doom Resurrection, Myst, Modern Combat: Sandstorm and a couple of outsiders like Family Guy: Uncensored and Airport Mania: First Flight.

Obviously, we can't argue with the Top Sellers, but we'd like to hear your opinions on the Best Games of 2009. Has Apple chosen wisely?

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
