Apple must have sensed that we thought it was great, and that it upheld only the most intelligent, practical and profitable business attitudes.

But it seems a bored Apple lawyer has convinced the company to start thinking with a cold, churlish corporate mind, and persuaded Cupertino to sue Woolworths over its new logo. I guess things must get a little boring at Apple between device launches.

Admittedly, the two corporate logos aren't a million miles apart, but neither are they close enough to justify a court case, or the PR risk of Apple making itself look like a narcissistic dick.

Designer of the new Woolworths logo, Hans Hulsbosch, tells Mashable, "Based on this logic, they would have to take action against every fruit-seller." Watch our Granny Smith.

Have a look at the two logos below and let us know your thoughts. Has Woollies gone too far, or has Apple fallen out of its tree?

(Editor's note: This story initially, and erroneously, stated that the case concerned Woolworths of America.)

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
