iPhone prototype for sale on eBay

And fetching a handsome price, too

This is just too delish to ignore.

Over on the US eBay there’s an auction listing for two prototype iPhones - and at the time of writing they’re already up to $610 with two days to go.

The phones differ in their specifications, it seems. Only one of them is actually working, and features a plastic screen rather than the glass one we’ve come to know and love. Despite running a beta version of the iPhone OS, it can apparently still make phone calls, surf the web and has a working camera.

The second handset in the auction is inoperative, but is equipped with the glass screen of current models.

Retro gaming equipment has been known to reach lofty heights on eBay, so it’s quite a testament to the iPhone’s success that it’s already raking in the collectors.

This’ll be an investment for some lucky technophiles grandkids, I tells ya. Check it out.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
