Bill Gates: 'Sorry kids, no iPhone or iPods in THIS house...'

Wife Melinda spills the beans

Bill Gates: 'Sorry kids, no iPhone or iPods in THIS house...'

Every kid has an iPod nowadays, right? Wrong. Well, we know three who don't: the children of a certain Mr Bill Gates.

Wife Melinda has revealed that the couple's kids aren't allowed to own Apple gadgets. "There are very few things that are on the banned list in our household, but iPods and iPhones are two things we don't get for our kids," she tells Vogue.

You know that as soon as those children hit their teenage years, they're going to be smuggling white earphones into the house - possibly hidden inside a cigarette packet to evade the Wrath Of Bill.

However, there's a chink in the parental solidarity when it comes to the Apple ban. "Every now and then I look at my friends and say 'Ooh, I wouldn't mind having that iPhone," says Melinda.

We wonder if all consumer electronics bosses operate a similar policy in their homes. Steve Jobs' children don't have Zunes, we're betting. But then whose kids do?
