Despite everyone from TomTom to Toshiba ever-so-subtly writing off England’s footballing chances by offering refunds on their valuable products should the Three Lions triumph in six weeks' time, we at Pocket Gamer are confident of victory.

Well, a quarter-final berth, anyway.

Fabio Capello is, of course, 100 per cent (or should that be 6m per cent per year?) certain of England’s glory at the upcoming soccer jamboree in Africa.

The Italian coach is all set to deliver his final squad selection to the baying public, and whilst Theo Walcott may surprisingly miss out, the Sonic-beating, Arsenal winger can console himself by taking part in our own exciting competition.

The inaugural Pocket Gamer iPhone Game Developers World Championship™ (or PG iGDWC for short) will commence on 11th June, pitting 32 iPhone games from developers across the planet against each other.

Over the course of an action-packed month, matches between the shortlisted titles will be decided by public vote and professional judging.

Once the group stages are complete, the knockout competition kicks off, culminating in the prestigious PG iGDWC Final on July 11th.

In the meantime, you can still nominate your favourite developer and game for entry into the competition itself.

And if you represent an African, eastern European, or South American developer make sure you vote - American, France, and all the other big boys will be there, so there's no reason you shouldn't be too.
