iPhone Dev Team, which was behind the first iPhone 4 jailbreak, has decided that enough is enough, and will no longer be supporting the hack after repeated clashes with Apple.

Although Apple released the new 4.0.2 firmware in an attempt to counter the original jailbreak, the iPhone Dev Team has decided not to retaliate, saying it would not be releasing an update to get around the new firmware upgrade.

A post on the iPhone Dev Team blog reads, "If the cat & mouse game escalates too quickly, especially during beta FW periods, nobody but Apple benefits. For this reason, there won't be a 4.0.2/3.2.2 jailbreak specifically during the period where 4.0.2/3.2.2 is the latest public release."

The post also quoted the film Wargames, saying "the only winning move is not to play."
