Californian injury law firm Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff is currently holding an investigation into the problems some users have suffered with the new iPhone 4.

“If you recently purchased the new iPhone and have experienced poor reception quality, dropped calls and weak signals,” KCR writes on its New Cases & Investigations page ”we would like to hear from you.“

If you’ve been living under a rock, you may not know that some iPhone 4 users are finding their signal and wi-fi connectivity suffering when the iPhone 4 is held in a specific way. Apple CEO Steve Jobs told customers to “avoid holding it in that way”, but changed his tune days later and told a customer that a fix is incoming.

KCR has taken plenty people to court for false advertising, dodgy products and advertising scams, including Facebook and Zynga in 2009.

Nokia recently published a blog post poking fun at the iPhone 4 issues, saying “you’re free to hold your Nokia device any way you like. And you won’t suffer any signal loss.”

Daring Fireball’s John Gruber then found videos of Nokia handsets losing signal when held, and an instruction booklet for the 2320 which asks users not to touch the phone’s antenna when talking.
