No, Apple isn’t recalling iPhone 4

Not every Tweet on ceoSteveJobs’s account, a parody of the notorious Apple CEO, is quite as obviously satirical as this knee-slapper. “The new iPhone doubles as an iPod touch for left-handed users.”

Some are quite dry, like: “we may have to recall the new iPhone. This, I did not expect.” That one was picked up by online journalist Richard Ashmore at the website of tabloid rag Daily Mail.

“The much-vaunted new iPhone 4 may be recalled, Apple boss Steve Jobs revealed this morning,” wrote Ashmore.

While Jobs has been known to regularly email customers and journalists via his Apple.com address, he definitely isn’t on Twitter or Facebook. And, if that wasn’t enough of a red flag, the Twitter account is clearly labelled as “Of course this is a parody account.”

The article has since been taken down, but not before users grabbed a screenshot to pass around the web.
