F1 Mobile Racing

  • Platform: iOS/Coming to Android "soon"

This one certainly raced out from under the radar. Codemaster's new mobile take on its F1 games is here, complete with all the officially licensed teams, racers, cars, and everything else you'd expect from the main series. Except on your phone.

Not only does it look rather spectacular, it also features real-time multiplayer, allowing you to race against friends and foes the world over to prove your worth on the track.

  • Platform: iOS
  • Price: £4.99/$4.99

A wonderful console platformer ported to mobile, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood has you drawing all over the place with a magic pen to manipulate the environment and solve physics-based puzzles.

There's all sorts of monsters to avoid on your journey to save your annoying younger brother, along with endless traps, obstacles, and other nuisances to overcome with the many abilities you'll acquire throughout the game.

Pivotol

  • Platform: iOS
  • Price: Free

In the eternal words of Ross Geller: Pivot!! Pivot!!!

The setup is pretty simple - tap and swipe the blocks to rotate them on a pivot, and match colours to destroy them. But this gives way to clever puzzles, tough challenges, and gameplay that will keep you around far longer than you first anticipated.

Reigns: Game of Thrones

Reigns is an excellent series about the perils of monarchy. Game of Thrones is also an excellent series about the perils of several monarchs. Put the two together? Gold.

Reigns: Game of Thrones is one of the smartest moves we've ever encountered, a perfect marriage of game and IP. You'll be swiping through your decisions, trying to appease everyone and avoid getting brutally murdered. And this time, all your favourite GoT characters will be there, also trying to kill you.
