Apple reports 3.27 million iPads sold

More than 3 million iPads have been sold since the device launched at the beginning of April.

Apple highlighted the figure in its quarterly financial report, which averages to more than a million iPads sold every month since April.

That breaks down to approximately 37,500 iPads sold each and every day.

CEO Steve Jobs is obviously pleased with the report stating, "iPad is off to a terrific start."

The 3.27 million figure comes after critics downplayed iPad success in the weeks immediately following its release. While not record-breaking, iPad has sold consistently well.

Unfortunately, the dearth of iPads out in the wild has not spurred major game development. Despite the large number of iPad-specific apps, most are ports of iPhone and iPod touch games.

With news of good sales, perhaps game developers will start looking to iPad as a potential creative outlet.
